I collected soil samples from various mountainous, suburban, and urban areas of South Korea and presented them with information from my research about the quality of the soils in order to criticize society’s handling of urbanization, skyrocketing land prices, and conservation policies. I claim as the “pure value” of earth not the value of real estate as fixed by economic measures, but a quality determined by the soil’s pH level in order to show how land prices are inverted to the true value of soil.
